Shape Up NYC

Shape Up NYC is a FREE program designed to encourage people to lead physically active lifestyles. The program was developed through New York City Parks and Recreation offering a variety of fitness classes including Pilates, kickboxing, Zumba, and more at several locations throughout the five boroughs. I love having the opportunity to teach some of these classes to people in my community as a way of giving back.

As I was teaching Pilates mat at A.R.R.O.W. Field House in Astoria, Queens, a 6 year old girl (pictured above) grew impatient waiting for her mother to finish the class. I encouraged her to perform wall push ups with everyone and she left with a big smile on her face.
